Page 35, a place, an history

With its charmy warm colors in sandtan and burgundy tones and its paintings on the wall, Page 35 was originally conceptualized as a family dining room.

If
the ambiance is never on the gloomy side, it's because of the fact that
this mansion, constructed around 1620 by one the architect of Louis
XIII, Jean Thiriot, had an famous resident whose memory still lingers,
Théophile Gautier.

The creator of Le Capitaine Fracasse lived with his parents at N°4 rue du Parc Royal and it is in reference to one of his most beautiful book published in 1835, Mademoiselle de Maupin

that the restaurant was named. This anticonformist and irreverent novel

is known for its preface which preaches with vigour the philosophy of

"Art for art's sake".
